This version of Turret is basically a test of the included "Mortar" engine.

Turret is a game where you control and defend a stationary turret. It's written in Python and rendered in 3D using OpenGL.

For a long time I've been fascinated with the idea of encryption, that is taking a "message" and transforming it into something that at least appears to be completely unrelated, for the purposes of hiding the message from unauthorised people.

According to the timestamp on the original copy of this piece on my harddisk, this was written in early August 2003. At the time, I had just found myself a new midi sequencer application, and was playing around with it.

This version has two different implementations. One uses multiple files to get the information about the batteries, the other uses one device-summary file per battery. You can switch between the two modes by changing the variable ACCESS_MODE in the source code to one of MULTIFILE or UEVENT.

This link was posted to the #atheists channel. It is a well-written homage to Dr Seuss, where an elephant named Horton meets an evangelist. It is so well-written, and captures the problem of atheist persecution so well, I just had to post it on my own website.
